A Muzau agent goes and finds your figures where they live (spreadsheets, business tools), compares them with the previous week and explains the gaps in plain language. On Monday morning the document is in the same place, without anyone having spent Friday evening building it.

Why this is a problem

Weekly reporting suffers from a structural flaw: it is essential to decision-making and it is produced by the person with the least time. As a result it slips, then it is skipped, then the business is run without it.

When it does get produced, it often consists of copying figures from a tool into a spreadsheet. The useful work, understanding why the figure moved, comes last, if there is time left.
